Holt Tractor Plastic model instructions
The early release of the Holt 75 plastic model had "inaccurate instructions".
A corrected version of the instructions can be downloaded from the manufacturers web page. Go to the news release for 26.04.2018. http://www.roden.eu/HTML/framenews.htm Here is the direct link to the updated instructions. https://www.dropbox.com/s/q2eunz4rgd1e8rb/812_ins.pdf Some pictures and side elevation plans of the Holt tractor are available on the Landships 2 web site. Holt 75 Artillery Tractor - Landships WW1 Forum If any of you plan on driving a Holt 75, you will need a copy of the operators manual: https://books.google.com/books/about...d=z9XNAAAAMAAJ The Hold 75 hp tractor parts list: https://books.google.com/books?id=UyUxAQAAMAAJ (I realize now that the Library section might have been a better place to post this, but I did "find it on the internet" , and the if the instructions are printed out on paper, they are a kind of 2D paper model. And apologies in advance for posting a link to a site that pushes pl@st!c models. I hope no one has a relapse to the dark side.) To help with pl@st!ic withdrawal here is a page with pictures of a paper model Holt tractor https://www.pinterest.com/beremans/holt-tractor/ Last edited by John Wagenseil; 07-21-2018 at 10:48 AM. |

Early American tractor are a neglected paper model topic, though their mechanical complexity would make them a "not easy" design and build.
The only commercial paper model of a Holt tractor that I have been able to find is a later, more compact, tractor from the 1920's. The original Holt factory was in Stockton, California, at Church and Aurora streets. To the best of my knowledge, the only remaining building is the factory's fire house on Aurora Street. Benjamin Holt ,who manufactured the first practical crawler-type tread tractor, built a house just south of downtown Stockton which is still standing. It has been re-purposed as a rehab center. |
