NIEUPORT Nie-10 de GUYNEMER AU 1/66
The Nieuport 10 was the first Nieuport biplane formula aircraft operational during the WW1. It was initially referred as Nie-XB (B for biplane), then Nie-10. He was studied, probably, by Nieuport’s engineer Gustave Delage, at the beginning of 1914, in order to compete in the Gordon Bennett Cup of the same year. Then it was the war. The project evolved into a military observation aircraft whose biplane formula met the demand of the General Army Staff (visibility and manoeuvrability). The Nieuport 10 is directly derived from the Nie-X monoplane. It is equipped with a 80hp rotary engine Le Rhône covered with a horseshoe hood. A number of Nie-10 were equipped with engines derived from the same type up to 120hp (Nie-10Bis). Initially, the observer/machine gunner was positioned in front of the pilot, which caused a visual discomfort for him. The positions were then reversed. Many Nie-10 were first transformed into one-seater, the observer's place being just obstructed by a plate, and then, produced in this configuration. A machine gun was attached to the upper surface of the wing and operated by the pilot via a Bowden cable. The monoplace version was used by the French, British, Belgian and Russian to more than a thousand copies and was built under license in Italy (240 copies) and in Russia. The Nieuport 10 number 320: the first Charles Guynemer "Vieux Charles " The Nieuport 10, serial number 320, was assigned to Georges Guynemer on October 15, 1915. This aircraft was previously the airplane of Sgt. Armand Blackwell, who was transferred to N91S Squadron at the end of September. He had baptized his aircraft "Old Charles " for an unknown reason. May be in homage to the dean of the squadron: Jules Vedrine, nicknamed "Charles ". Guynemer will keep the christening name and report it to all of his other airkrafts. He flew the airkraft from October 10, 1915 to March 5, 1916 and won six certified wins and a "dubious". The plane finishes its career..... on the back after threwing in the snow. Note that only the right flank of the fuselage bears the inscription "Vieux Charles". Criquet,
I am on that like a Duck on a June Bug!! Thank you so much. These Nieuports are some of the prettiest aircraft that ever flew. So very delicate and so well proportioned. https://www.urbandictionary.com/defi...a%20june%20bug

When I see Google translate other languages into English I am brought face to face with what you non English speaking guys deal with here. I will try harder.
Downloaded the Nie 10. Beautiful detail and I really like the coloring. It looks very authentic to my eye.

I can tell you my friend if I wasn't "Nieuported out" (A 1/33 and a 1/100 kit in the last 3 weeks or so) I would be all over your 10.
I signed up to your blog. Anyone else who sees this should also check out Criquet's site and sign up for the blog. Google Chrome does a great job translating.
