NIEUPORT10 GUYNEMER 3rd "VIEUX CHARLES"
The history of the Nieuport 10, and of the single-seater version in particular, was evoked during the presentation of the Guynemer’s Nieuport N ° 310. Here are some comments on his second Nieuport 10 the n ° 328 always at 1/66. May-June 1916. After flying a Nieuport 11 (No. 836) with he won his eighth win, Guynemer was wounded. Back in battle after his convalescence, he touches a new "Vieux Charles", the third of the name. It is a Nieuport 10 monoplace No. 328 on which he will win his ninth victory and a dubious one. Compared to the Nieuport 10 N ° 320 already treated, this one had a head support and a rear-view mirror likely installed at the request of the Ace. As for the Nieuport 10 n°320, the n°328 is in free downloading on my web site here: NIEUPORT 10 n°328 de GUYNEMER - NOS BELLES "PLUMES" DU TEMPS PASSE. Thank you for your interest in my creations even if they are only French planes. Regards |

Criquet,
You are a true gentleman for doing this for French history. Many do not know how your country suffered during that horrendous war. Guynemer was an ace but most importantly he was an inspiration to your people during those terrible days. His loss is still a legend of French history. He was not "lost". He just continued to fly up into the clouds....
