New automata models?
A science papercraft website wasn't where I expected to find toy automata, but their 2 newest downloads are prehistoric animal automatas:

Great find, I like the insects and the galloping critter.
Here is a ancient paper model of an O Yoroi Antique o-yoroi samurai armor The model will need clean up and repair, but it builds up a very impressive display piece that will fit into its storage box when Boy's Day is over. Make sure you get both pages. This page has links to books about and pictures of samurai armor, and a paper model of an O Yoroi that you can buy if you can figure out how to use the Japanese on-line retail system. Samurai Armor If you search previous posts you will find links to most of the free download samurai armor models that have been posted on the internet. There are also a couple of samurai related tatebanko in the downloads section of this forum. GPM a Polish paper model publisher has a paper model samurai armor for sale. Thank you for the links, but I wish you just linked to the page where the files are located, and not deep link to the actual files, this way if there are any other files, or ads, the designer can get money from the views. Plus it is better netiquette.

Normally I try not to deep-link as seen in my previous posts, for the reasons you mentioned. This time though I imagine few forum members read Japanese, and some don't have browsers with translate functions. These pages have links to multiple models that I wanted people to identify instantly to keep their interest going. But you raise a good point, we should all be more considerate to generous designers providing free content! I should also add that Samurai helmet and weapon display sets are traditional for Tango-no-sekku or Boy's Day in Japan, so there are plenty of papercrafts online although mostly generic or fanciful. There's one that resembles Takayama Shigetomo's helmet from a woodblock print, but none for his colorful laced armor. Quote:

I think my previous comment on another thread topic is worth repeating here:
I was rooting around for Samurai-related diorama stuff and I hit the motherlode with Canon's Hinamatsuri (girl's festival) 3D display here: https://cp.c-ij.com/en/contents/CNT-0011649/index.html It has nice 3D figures of the Emperor, Empress and 3 ladies in waiting at roughly 90mm (1/18) scale on the first page. Those Costumes of the World are nice to have. I found the original site many years ago but it dissapeared. Searching on the Wayback Machine a few years ago showed it was archived.
