Type 2592 Osaka Armoured Car

A new Alexander Bondar model - a 1:50 model of the Type 2592 Osaka Armoured Car. Very little is known about this vehicle aside from a few photographs. Even the manufacturer and the number built is not known with any certainty. However, it does appear to have been built in 1932 using a truck chassis with an armoured body similar in design to the Wolseley armoured car.

Usual download location: Landships II

Regards,

Charlie

Many thanks Alexander and Charlie!

Good addition to the armored car collection.

In the .pdf of the Type 2592 is a photomontage of Alexander's future models. I'm not sure I can identify more than a couple of them.

I think there's a certain pleasure in building AFV models that the plastic modellers can't identify.

Regards,

Charlie

The last one with WH plate must be something German from WWII or the late 1930s. WH means Wehrmacht. You can see the Henschel 33 or Mercedes LG3000(I'm not sure which one, not easy to say from that distance but looks more like a LG3000) truck in the background too in that picture. But I have no idea what is that modified car. I'd say it's some kind of Mercedes-Benz but it could be an old Skoda as well...

I can ID the top left vehicle as the body of an armoured railcar for the Hejaz railway, but never delivered, dropped onto a truck chassis. The top right vehicle is also Freikorps - I think it's an Austin turret dropped onto the tray of a small truck. I could guess at some of the others - and be totally wrong.

Regards,

Charlie

The bottom right looks like one of the phony one's from Pattons 1st army. One of our British members can surely identify the grill work of that one and the one behind it.
