models from the former DDR

don't know if this one has been posted before, but this weekend ik stumbled upon this website by fans about 1950', 1960's & 1970's carboard models published in the former DDR: Kranich Modelbogen

this is a website by fans for fans, and it has downsized images of the modelsheets.

as i'm not a specialist in international copyright laws, i really don't know if this website is a pirate site or not (models were published by the government, they're more or less 50 years old and the scans aren't in the original size). i do not know if any of these models have been republished recently, but most likely some sheets are still available on auction sites.

Thanks for this. Very interesting.

Doesn't look like a private site me - they are giving a historical overview and the material all looks to be old.

But I am sure someone with better knowledge then me in this area will confirm the situation.

" the scans aren't in the original size"
However the scans are larger than Letter or A4 size.
I would have to have a print shop print a model on larger size card stock to get a full size print.
Above statement based on the 1/32 scale lastkraftwagen.

it's obvious this site is made out of dedication, and not out of financial reasons, so pirate site might be a bit to harsh, but as copyright is a sensitive issue on this forum

only viewed the scans in my browser and not in an image editor/viewer. did not keep things as resolution in mind. but you're right, most scan appear to be original a4 size

Hello all,

this is a private site and you will find some model Scans from me there, too. Whenever you see Michael Golke, this is me. Ist just a Review site and not all pages are scanned and shown there. Ist just for Information not for download.

Michael

My virusscanner and MS Defender say it's a dangerous site... and block it.
Ayone has this also?

I check the page and there are several models that I would like to have, mostly aircraft. Is there a way to legally obtain them?
