...but who "owns" the original which was scanned to produce these images? According to the mark on one of the sheets, it's the intellectual property of Bordens themselves - if the firm still exists, surely they should be asked. I don't suppose the person who scanned the image asked for Bordens' permission. If "Thecmn" refuses, or - worse - asks for commission, I think you could ignore it. What do others think?

Some of the earlier talk is that they are old enough not to have to worry about copyrights
I am just asking for permission because I do not want to get the museum into legal trouble. For selling them. And I not lawyer and not sure where the term for donation stands. All money is going to the museum plus the PDFs if I get okay. |

If you do, please share it with us so that we can learn more about how this particular company handles the subject. My opinion is that since the cut-outs display a trademark that is still owned by an active company, there may be some reluctance to someone outside the business to distribute an object displaying their name/logo. But let's wait and see what they say.
