Caudron c60 1/66

The Caudron C60 is a biplane, bi-place, single-engine touring and training aircraft. Its structure is made of wood and canvas. Derived from the C59 military training aircraft, its construction was launched in 1919. About sixty were built in France, and thirty were exported, particularly to Finland, which built 34 more under licence.

1926. Robert Landiech is a Frenchman who lives in Congo and has his own plane, a Caudron C60, which he uses for his pleasure, as well as for his personal comfort. He works as an engineer in a mine near Brazzaville.

On May 17, accompanied by a mechanic, he took off in the intention to reach Dakar or even Paris if he succeeded in doing so under good conditions. A rupture of the oil and fuel tanks forced him to land at 400km from Bamako. If the crew is safe, the aircraft is completely destroyed.

more than 4000km had been covered, which is an achievement at that time.

As all my models, this one is free downlable on my site here :

CAUDRON C60 F-AGDH de Robert Landiech - NOS BELLES "PLUMES" DU TEMPS PASSE.

Best regards

Many thanks for generously making this beautiful model available as a free download and for providing so much information about the original aircraft.

Hello,
to see a minimum of intérest in my models and to see them being assembled with such talent by some is a superb sign of encouragement to continue the little adventure of French planes in the 1930s.
Many thanks.
