CAUDRON C128 F-AHEC at 1/66 scale

Described as a "raid" in some newspapers of the time, this trip is more like a grand tour, which does not take anything away from the merit of those who completed it.

It took place from March 2 to September 7, 1928.

The Caudron C128 F-AHEC, was chartered by the daily newspaper "Le Petit Parisien" and the film company "Paramount" (hence its nickname P.P.P.P.) in order to carry out a film report in Africa.

Pilot Mauler was assisted by Baud. The film operator's name was Cohendy.

The 35,000km raid was initially planned over 2 months, in 32 stages averaging 450km. In fact, it took 5 months at an average speed of 120km/h. The route ran along the coast along the Gulf of Guinea, then along the western coasts of southern Africa.

As my others models, you can read his story and free downloading the model on my website here:

Best regards.

An interesting and historic airplane, and another excellent model.

I enjoyed reading about the flight and about the challenges of producing the model from the available documentation.

Thank you very much for sharing this model with us.

Interesting aircraft designation -AHEC
For some of us, AHEC has another meaning, Army Heritage & Education Center

Maybe someone will be smart enough to build it for the next Army Heritage Days event
