Exploded Tank diorama ideas

Hi all,

I came across this link while looking something else on pinterest(which is usual for me)

It is a Russian page, but using the built in translator in Google Chrome, the text is pretty readable
https://zen.yandex.ru/media/nil/chto...02dd00aaed8718

I hope this inspires someone

Rick

when I built 1/76 scale armor I came across a few dioramas with knocked out tanks. the builders mentioned it is more labor intensive since you have to model the innards as well as the exterior vehicles, and you have to morph the parts to show the violence done to them.

Interesting pics Rick - I would never have thought that would be the end result in many cases.

Modelling some of those tanks would definitely result in the accusation that the model was NOT realistic!

And nothing about explods of russian tanks. Because russian tanks don't explods! :-)
Usual boastful article: Russian are heroes, all the rest - are so-so.

Scary to think about the men inside those Tanks
but what a fantastic set of photos.

I've always been aware of explosions causing flying turrets...
they shoot upwards like bullets
and then come back down with heavy gun pointed down like a dart.

But I never would have imagined strong steel hulls ballooning like that.
Must have been very powerful explosions inside.

Close to the bottom of the page, there are pictures of a KV-2 and a T-72.

Russians do toot their own horns proudly.
The comments under those two photos (of the Russian made Tanks) are a bit boastful.
But what country doesn't praise its own forces and machines?

One thing apparent for many pictures is that first thing to let go are welds and bolted joints.German tanks are an exception.Welded joints on those are made differently.

Shermans were called "Zippos" because they lit every time.
