Orlik's An-26 Transport for free

Hi all,

In the world of the Internet that we live in today, files or memories might fade, and they might also resurface. The latter is definitely the case here

Back in 2015, our friends at Orlik released as a Christmas gift to the hobby, the An-26 transport plane designed by Piotr Dzięgielewski.
And as Facebook does with its Memories option, it will remind you from time to time, that a nugget like this is still available.

By visiting Wydawnictwo Orlik - Modele kartonowe and clicking on pliki(files in Polish) or files if the webpage gets translated automagically, and scrolling to the end of the list, you will see that at 17.47 MB a pdf file with the name An-26 is available for download.

Piotr is still waiting on some builds to appear.
I hope some of us members can help a fellow designer fulfill his wish

Rick

I totally missed this if ever announced here 5 years ago. This is the first I've heard of it and surprised no one has built it yet.

Thanks for the heads up. I'd like to add this to my build a kit pile.

Looks like a nice model. Thanks for the link. Hopefully it will get built and photographed by some one soon.

This is a great looking model. I noted it back when it was first offered. However, it is a large print A3 size, So I could not print it home.

Other option is to have it printed at an office supply store, but my experience was that the print was flaking as I started rolling and bending the paper.

I would love to see a build of this model.

Forgotten I had this model.

Just tried it at A3. Its outside the margins of my printer.

The ruler bars on the model are measuring 8mm. They should be 10mm.

However, no part is so big that it's page couldn't be printed from either end

Might have a play

Tim

Tim, have you tried the Take Snapshot feature? It is a camera icon. You can highlight the area of the page you want to print and then choose Print Selected Graphic in the print dialogue, it is usually automatically choosen when using the Snapshot tool to print parts of a page. Left click and drag a box around what you want to print.

In my version of Adobe Reader 11.0.23
Edit > Take a Snapshot

To have it on the toolbar ready for use
goto View > Show/Hide > Toolbar Items > Edit > Take Snapshot

I tried it on the An-26 pages. Without selecting it looked like the print would be outside of my printer margins with A3 size selected. Choosing fit to page would have produced a 98% print. With the area inside the scale markings on the page selected using the Snapshot tool and highlighting just the parts a 100% print at actual size is possible while staying inside the printer margins. As an aside if I had then chosen Fit the print would have been at 103%.

You would have to do that on every page.

If you do not use Adobe Reader check to see if your preferred pdf reader has a similar feature.
