If nothing else, it looks like a pretty good tripod for taking photos, or with a little adaptation, maybe a swiveling third hand while one is building.

Of course, there is the possibility that it may not clear UK Customs. There have been the odd few things I've ordered from the far east that haven't got through. The senders have always accepted the loss and refunded me though.

I've often been amused and puzzled by some of the items declared on the customs labels. Many of the senders probably have little or no English, so it must be difficult for the customs officers to fathom it out without actually opening them. Comparing the actual contents to what's written on the declaration can be amusing. ... Bracelet?? I haven't ordered any bracelets! ... and inside are two sets of Fender Guitar strings. I guess whoever prints out the label just feels the package and guesses what's in there. Last month I got a battery-powered mini practice amplifier, labeled as a box of paper anti-virus masks.

It might, but it won't surprise me to find that the tripod isn't included.

I may be wrong but only the stand/tripod is $19.99 USD. The laser printer/engraver is $378.36 USD. The "only 10 remaining" refers to the stand, not the printer. Click where it says DIY MINI HANDHELD DESKTOP LASER PRINTER PRO and you will see the price for the printer. If you only paid £15.28, I think you only bought the stand.

There are two buttons, one for the stand, and one of the engraver

I see the same what July1772 sees

On re-examination of the advert, I think you are right. Oh well, it was worth a punt, but at £289.12 I'll not be ordering the printer. Nice idea, but not for me at that price. Looking only at the tripod, £15.28 may well be a bit overpriced too, so I may well be investigating their returns guarantee.

Strange that even the "shipment on it's way" email still only refers ts the "DIY Mini handheld desktop laser printing" with no mention of a tripod. We shall see when it arrives I guess, but I'm not holding out much hope.

Every other place I have seen advertising the engraver has a list price of around $249 or more USD. So I do not understand how that site you linked sells it for $44.99 USD (£34.16). Maybe another misleading listing?
It do look like a neat little machine, though.

Here is the Kickstarter page:

What the hell ... I do like it and I can afford to gamble.

PayPal tells me I've just paid $57.98 for the Launch Day Special + Express Delivery, but I'm still not wholly convinced this ain't a scam.

Well, if it is, you can get your money back with Paypal. Takes a bit of time, but you can...

-------------------

Talking about lasers, and the one you mentioned, I have one with an alleged 50km range. Bought for a specific purpose.

During the day it is like a sparkling light sabre - we figured out that the visual effects is because it is burning dust in the air. Looks like a medium metal torch. Fortunately it has a built in lock and keys, so I can lock it off and there will be no accidents of any kind. I must try your match head experiment sometime!
