WEYMANN 130 at 1/66 scale
Ultimate french tourist aircraft of the SAEAW (Société anonyme des établissements aéronautiques Weymann) it was designed by the engineer Delasalle. Two seats side by side with closed cabin. It is entirely made of wood. With a wingspan of 10m, it had been the object of a particularly solid construction in order to receive any engine from 95hp to 150hp, hence its nickname "Ford of the air". It flew in May 1932 with a 95hp Renault engine in an upright position. Although he had the registration F-ALQY, he never obtained his flight certificate. It was intended to receive thereafter an inverted engine which was generalized on the passenger planes. Special features: A prismatic windshield, an original and unique Weymann elevator trim system and a huge fin. To learn more about this astonishing plane (but in french: sorry), and free downloading cards: WEYMANN type 130 - NOS BELLES "PLUMES" DU TEMPS PASSE. Thank you for your interest in my approach. Thank you for this - an interesting aircraft and a very nice model!
And don't worry about it being in French - Google Chrome for me translates French automatically into English. I did not even notice!
