I still don't know what yesterday's model is derived from. A military truck? A missile erector/launcher, an airport fire truck?

Carlos,
The Studebaker, the 8x8, was a custom build from what I have been able to gather, commissioned either by Seiko or the hotel, the back of the truck did have a dining room for invited VIPs. It didn't finish though, and I don't know what the disposition of the truck is currently

Thanks Rick. I thought Studebaker had folded decades before. It makes sense it was a custom build.

Gracias, Rick. Now I know what the hotel's name was. I would never have guessed Duboucheron. That was illegible!
So it was indeed a military truck. I thought it looked soviet or czech to me. There isn't much left from the original M35s, and certainly not the body!

I would venture a guess that the M35s were used for the running gear and chassis for the truck
the superstructure was a tube frame with fiberglass panels
