Ah, another version of the Stuka would be lovely, but I don't have my hopes up for it unless it's a new one. Still, I hadn't built this second version before, and any new Stuka is a good Stuka to me;

Hello Chris,
It's a very, very nice your Stuka! I like a lot.

It's edited in A3 size for which, I suppose, we will print some pieces of A4 paper.

Chris -- That is an excellent model! Any chance of some info on the modifications you did? I hope you will find the time to post more of your Trotskiy models in this thread. Don

I hope I get enough time to do more Trotskiy models! For the Stuka, I tried to add a little more dimension as you have on your Trotskiy models, Don. I can't bring myself to glue the wings on underneath the fuselage! I cut the wings into sections, formed them a bit for thickness and trimmed them to fit. A bit tricky, but definitely worth it, IMHO. The dihedral on the wings was guesstimated, but after building a number of JU-87s, I think I'm starting to get close on this sort of thing.I added the flaps and ailerons as separate items, as they are such defining elements of the Stuka. I made new tail wing tips, antenna, steps and props. I glued the wheel pants over some thicker cardboard to try and give them some dimension, but it's not enough to really be noticeable. If I were to do them over, I'd add layers for the wheels covers. After these photos were taken, I also added the twin machine guns to the gunner's canopy. The antenna wire is 1# fishing line.
The Stuka is my favorite plane and this is a nice little model. I think the mods really help. My only wish is that someone would do a kit of the JU-87A in the Condor Legion scheme!
Chris
PS. Don, it was your great build on the Storch that inspired me to do this one!

Chris
have a little bit patience, I have holidays in August and if it is not too hot, maybe it works, but only in Trotskiy`s style
I'm always interested in Stukas too, because my father has flown in one 42-44, and since long, I`ll do my own one, why not an A-2 in Spain

regards
Edi

Would you mind filling in some details (maybe on a new thread)? Sounds very interesting...

While waiting patiently for the JU-87A (:D), I impatiently decided to try another Trotskiy, the He 162;
TROTSKIY is up-dsc02339.jpg

TROTSKIY is up-dsc02338.jpg

I try to round out the forms on these Trotskiy models, but this one wasn't too easy. I find these all wind up a little on the skinny side when I do them... and a lot of the parts need to be trimmed and fitted. But I think rounding the forms does help the look, IMHO. And Mr. Trotskiy does such a great job on them, they're easy and quick to build.
