Trabants

You've just gotta be a real enthusiast to produce a site like this one

Trabantklub Bdenìves v AÈR

Click on "downloads" or the pictures in the left-hand frame. The models look pretty good, and I have to say, this is a real cult vehicle with a certain amount of charm (unless, that is, you've ridden in one, or had to repair it [a hammer is a useful tool there])

What scale is the real car, 1:4? No, I really meant the model.

OK, I was able to find it. Here's a guide to print at either 1:32 or 1:24.

Ooopps.
My apologies to "Cut and Paste".
My recent posting is a duplicate posting:
(TRABANTS-The people's car of eastern europe)
If you drill into the site he posted you will find the same download page I had posted .
I hope the members do enjoy rediscovering all the Trabis.

Trying to find out why you said that; and what a Trabant is all about, did some Googling.
Trabant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A two cylinder engine? Gravity feed gas tank?
Dang, my Chevette was higher-tech than that. Maybe even a Yugo was.

What?

In 2007 Herpa, a miniature vehicles manufacturer in Bavaria, showed a scale model of the "New Trabi" and revealed that they planned to introduce it. They bought the rights to the name and plan to produce a series of 5,000 cars. It would likely have a BMW engine and be sold for around €50,000.[16][17]
Fifty-thousand Euro? Isn't that a little higher then the original price range?

Guess it's not all bad?

In August 2009 it was announced that a new Trabant powered by an electric engine will be unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show on 17 September with production starting if investment can be secured.[19][20]
Do they have any idea?
