papermate, Aha! Thank you for the clarification about the UHU. My last response was after having only seen the thumbnails of you models, as I couldn't open them on my I-device, so I just now looked at the full size - they look outstanding! Certainly give your methods credibility! Thank you for sharing.

papermate, The type of UHU you show in the picture doesn't seem to be available here in the US. The closest I can find is UHU "Twist & Glue", and I've read that it is completely different. I could order some online for $9 a tube direct from Asia if I really want to try it, though! I'll do some research and see what else is similar. Thanks for your tips!

jlcopen, you're welcome. In HK, a tube of UHU glue as shown in picture is HK$10- which is less then USD1.5 so you can work out how much you can save by buying bulk, maybe from HK.

Legion, someone on Papermodelers posted that the UHU Twist & Glue wrinkled the paper - have you had that problem before? Can you share about how you've used this glue and what you feel are it's pros and cons?

Lightbulb

I use Beacon Fabri Tac on card models very good contact bonding and don't make the paper soggy and wrinkly like some glues will.
Here are a couple pf pics of my Ojimak Raptor before my son knocked it off my monitor then rolled over it with my computer chair

I only use Uhu's twist and glue and I've never had any wrinkle issue (OK, the wings of my planes are not that big). That's the only glue of that brand I can find easily where I live except for standard Uhu Sticks (but I don't consider those actual glue :p).

Can't really say much, but the wrinkling maybe because of too much glue and too thin paper. And probably on large surfaces, like laminated parts. As for the usage, i use a drop of glue on a small piece of paper and take what i need from that drop using a toothpick. Works like a charm, but it does tend to string a bit. Nothing too serious though.

I denied to use UHU glue with my paper model because it stick temporary then it will separate within a few day. It's worse when you paint it with water color.
