That's one serious model builder. My french is not so good, and google translate never translates good enough, but how long have that build been underway?

Wow!

Re the Renault 21 -

I looked at all the posts in that thread, and if I'm not mistaken, it looks like he's dismantled a full-size car in order to take measurements & photos of the parts, then produced (computer) 3D models of them, after which he has made the parts for the HUGE paper model. I think he may have made some parts (e.g. the dash) by injecting papier mache into a mould, but here I'm guessing a bit from the pictures as my French is OK but not good enough to speed-read all the posts. The interior of the body-shell looks like the real thing! Amazing!

As for how long... well, post No.1 is dated June 2009, and as of April 2010 he hadn't finished, I think.

Re - the Passat model.
How strange! The builder of this (and a Golf GTi) has obviously gone to a lot of trouble modelling the parts - even the ones that aren't immediately visible, like the interior of the spare-wheel well. And yet... he hasn't bothered to make everything properly. The steering wheel, for example, is just a single thickness of card, and those wheels! I know you can have low-profile tyres, but these are just a paper cylinder joined to a hub by card spokes! The body has no suggestion of curves - every surface is flat, like a very old Datsun.
I'm not really knocking this guy. He obviously has a lot of skill as a modeller. It's just that you'd expect someone with those skills to produce something more "finished". It's like these are try-outs before a proper build, or some sort of surreal artistic impression... Odd...
