Orlik had what I wanted
Hi all,
My second overseas order came in on Saturday, and it is quite the haul(pun intended) I placed an order with Orlik, for some race cars, and tractor trailer combos, and a helicopter From PK Graphica, the Kenworth W900 tractor, and the East Dump Trailer. From PHMT, the Tatra 815 6x6 and low boy trailer. From GPM, the MI-2, in the Aviation Institute colors. From Mega Graphics, The Renault Alpine 442 From Betexa, Various Tatra trucks, in 1:87 scale From Modelyf1.cz, Audi 90, in the 1989 colors of the Winner of the 500K of the Watkins Glen International. From Z-art, the Western Star 4900 tractor And Orlik threw in the Faun Airport Fire Engine, as a freebie. Now I am off to see Santa for some more time in my day Rick

Nice assortment. I should get my latest Orlik fix tomorrow or the day after. I can't wait to see how Ripper Works did with their first aircraft model. You should order the PKG Tatra 815 cement truck...it is quite nice (that was one of the gems in my last Orlik delivery).

OOh, nice... haven't seen that Kenworth before, might have to chase that up myself. I have the Western Star and plan to resize it to 1:24, what scale is that lowboy trailer in... looks like 1:32??

Bob, Sleep, what is that?
Jaffro, yes, all Czech truck kits are 1:32, the race cars are 1:24

Cheers Rick, I had a quick look at the site, didn't see the Kenworth yet but I'll go back for a better look later. I'm just hoping their postage to Australia isn't as ridiculous as GPM's.

Rick,
How much shipping did they charge for all that stuff? I recall trying to order a couple items from GPM a few months ago, but the shipping was about three times the cost of the kits! Les (The Voice of Authority) |

Les, the shipping on orders I've made typically run about 25% of the kit prices. My most recent order, shipping came to about $8 US for four kits. The most I've paid was on the order of $25 for an order of about 10 kits. This is certified airmail, so I feel very comfortable stating their shipping costs compare with even domestic shipping/handling. Extremely reasonable.

Hmm . . . something seems a bit wonky here. When I priced the USS Ward (GPM 343) on GPM's site it was 81 zloty ($26.05) shipping and 51 zloty ($16.50) for the model- $42.55 total.
On Orliks site they offer the same GPM model for 50 zloty ($16.08) and 17 zloty ($5.47) for shipping for a total of $21.55. Hmmmmm . . . . I think that I see a USS Ward in my future. It's kind of interesting that Orlik offers the same model as the GPM site but the shipping costs are so radically different. This gives me serious thought. |
