Cardboard Fleet

Now that my order is safely placed....ALL HANDS ON DECK!!! DROP YOUR...well, you know the rest. If you are on a budget and like waterline ships, this post is for you. Orlik is carrying a very good selection of Kartonowka Flota ship models, ranging from submarines to container ships, in scale 1:300. Granted, the models are somewhat basic (only enough detail to give the flavor of the subject), but they build up into fairly attractive little models. I'm now waiting for the mails to deliver my order of a full dozen kits (actually, 14 different models, since a couple of the kits are tufers), which should take up my free time once I get worked through this builder's block. And for the very best part....the cost for the order, including airmail postage, was under $32 US. Go to Orlik's website Orlik Model Kartonowy, Sklep internetowy, then use the Manufacturer search gadget on the left side of the page to pull up WIR (third from the bottom of the Manufacturer listing of the callout). And, while you are at it, check out the KEL aircraft kits that get displayed along with the KF ships. Most of those are 1:50 scale Merek kits such as sold on ecardmodels in digital form, and including delivery will cost no more, and in some cases less, than the digital pdf files. And don't worry about the paper/print quality...the KEL/KF kit quality is perfectly acceptable.

I've gotten quite a few of the Wir/Kel ships... Need to build them! Will look forward to seeing your build threads, Darwin.

So am I (retired, that is), but I haven't quit working. I figure if I do, I'll die.
