Ss normandie j.s.c.48

JSC have a great model of this classic between wars liner. The model contains 1936 parts printed on 18 sheets of A4 card,Laser parts are also avalible for boats, davits anchors etc.The overall length of model is 78.5cm.Colours are true and accurate. The hull is built using JSC construction of lengthwise triangular beam with frames attached. The model is rated 4 out of 5 for difficulty and should not be beyond skills of most on here.Cover picture is unusual in that its a painting by polish maritime artist rather than a photo.Anyone who is into classic liners should give this a go.

a bit of history about the ship.
launched october 1932
maiden voyage may 1935.she took the blue riband on this voyage.
length 981 feet
G.R.T 79,820
passengers 1972,crew 1345.

in september 1939 she was interned in new york harbour. Was renamed La Fayette and started conversion.
In february 1942 she caught fire at the dock.So much water was put into her to control fire that on 10th february she capsized at the dock.
She was eventually towed out and in the end was scrapped in 1948.

Have fun building her
