Wooden subversive submarine from 1854
I ordered this one on a whim as it's such a curiosity. It's from a company called Parallel in the Ukraine, I believe. It was $5 plus $7 shipping and arrived sooner than expected. Delivery was just over two weeks, which is a heck of a lot better than the six weeks my recent GPM order took. While there are instructions in English, there's no history or other info in English. Six pages of well-printed parts on good quality paper with with four pages of diagram instructions. The model can be built in one of two options, but I haven't quite sorted out what they are yet! The detail looks to be quite good with a full interior. Most of these photos are from the seller's ebay page with a few of my own. If anyone knows anything about the history of this submersible, I'd love to hear it. It's a new one to me! There are a number of very small parts and my recovering hands aren't quite ready for that, so this one goes on the pile for a little while at least.

Looks like a suitable addition to the Captain Nemo steampunk submarine lair and steam transportation company.

Have you gone any further to the Museum that houses this submarine? Holy frikkin awesome Uboats captain!!! This air and sea Museum is utterly amazing! Not just for the exhibits, but the whole production and presentation is ....WOW! They built this little wooden sub in 2013...launched it...left it in the harbour for about 6 months... then it became the first permanent exhibit in the Museum. Since then, they've installed a complete Russian Sub among other things! They have a youtube channel as well...with many videos. Unfortunately nothing on this wooden sub that I could find. I have not done much looking at the museum website. That news article popped up in the search for the machine.
The museum does look very interesting.
