Hi All,

And hi again, herky. Fair enough...I'll take one more bite at the apple and then step aside. The error in the painting that stands out to me is that the artist neglected to include the three sets of three windows seen at the aft end of the promenade deck. See images below.

Good luck with your ships,

Score and fold,

Thumb Dog

Is it the flags? The sideways flags have a colour sequence that's upside down from the one on the funnel.

no its something i would not have spotted and the artist would not have thought of in the realms of ships operations, sorry to sound so cryptic but im sure any ex ships crews would pick up on it.

In the painting the ship is underway and there are no lookouts posted on the bridge wings.

Bridge... oh, yes.

The cover painting shows the Andrea Doria all lit up, including the bridge windows. You wouldn't illuminate the bridge interior at night, because the light would bounce off the glass like a mirror so you couldn't see out the windows. Recall the Pepper's Ghost effect.

(So maybe that's why the bridge crew didn't see the Stockholm until it was too late...) ;-)
