A new addition to the collectibles section
A 1950s card model from the LocoPubCo that borrows several successful style and content features pioneered by Micromodels Ltd.
- The card kit is presented in a printed paper outer wrapper, the kit itself provides a historic and modern comparison between Locomotives of 1825 and 1924. - The kit is a very fine and large cut-out sheet contained in a high quality thick paper. The theme of the cut-out is a comparison between the Locomotion #1 of 1825 and the famous LNER Flying Scotsman of a hundred years later. - The card cut-out sheet opens out to 19.75 x 15.25" inches. It has exceptional coloured artwork. The scale is not given but the Flying Scotsman with Tender would be approximately 13.75" long made-up, which must make it near to "0" gauge. The wrapper which is in all black and white is 15.5" x 6.75". Instructions for building both models are on the reverse. - The publisher is - The Locomotive Publishing Co. Ltd., Terminal House, Shepperton, England, and the printer was Ian Allan Ltd. The kit is not dated but has an estimated publishing date in the early 1950s. - The price shown on the wrapper is five old Shillings (5/-). Condition is superb throughout, very near to mint, as issued. |
