Fresh in...

It’s been six months…getting back on my feet again…

These are really just a bit of retail therapy as I get set up in rental accommodation and hopefully get going again…

For a number of years, this M-50 was being developed in a design thread here. The design was completed a few years back just in time for publication to be disrupted by the troubles between Russia and the Ukraine.

It’s big…over a metre long when complete. I’d be looking to make the nose forward of the leading edge removable, probably with magnets.

The distinctive undercarriage is very detailed but there is no cockpit detail let alone any option for the downward dangling cockpit seats in the open position. I’m hoping that the cockpit from the Fly Blinder might be transferable.
Big submarine with a big gun. Been waiting for this for a long time.

Planning on enlarging by 139% for 1/72 scale to use naval figures in that scale. It might be nice to match this up with a late WW1 era scout as a spotter.
Tempting to upscale this to 1/32 but the span would be massive. The internal detail will help with my WIP Contrail Staaken. Reimers have taken the easy way out of armament detail by simply not providing any.
This has been a vehicle of interest since the days of The Highwayman on 80s TV.

My target for completion for at least one of these models is Scale Models Expo 20, in Wellington next year.

The M50 will be a beast. However, it is all cylinders and cones, so that should be simple to build.

Where did you purchase the YG kit from?

Thanks

Isaac

Have you thought of doing a repaint of the Staaken and replacing the landing gear with floats and beaching trolleys to make the float plane version?

There was another seaplane version but it would require more kit bashing to duplicate it

I look forward to seeing these builds, Simon.

You have set quite a major program for yourself.

Got it, I'm checking it out.

Strange is that there are many Polish designed models that I did not see on the Polish web sites like GPM.
