1/72 scale Short 184 Float Plane
I am finally beta-testing the build of my 1/72 scale Short 184 float plane. Two photos of the build in progress are attached. I started this so many years ago, that I forgot what some of the parts were for. There are a couple of variants. One for bombs and another for torpedoes. One with a free MG in the rear cockpit and one without. The photos are for one with the free MG and torpedo. The wings are so long and delicate that I had to add a wire stiffener in the lower wing, to keep both wings from drooping.

This is an excellent project, Wayne. The Short 184 was an important airplane in aviation history. I remember when I first became aware of it, and its incredibly long wingspan, when I acquired the Owen Thetford and E.J. Riding Harleyford book on Aircraft of the 1914-1918 War in the mid-50s. I still keep that book handy and reread it often.
Thanks for you on-going contribution to preserving aviation and miitary history in paper. Don |

Progress
Patience, please. I should finish this beta this week, then maybe one more. I expect to have simple instructions. Maybe three weeks, but don't hold me to that.

That's awesome, Wayne! I've long wanted a model of one of those ungainly beasts. Will you be releasing the kit commercially?

Not commercial
Wyvern,
I started posting all my models free last year. I will put it up here or on LandshipsII. It isn't relevant to tanks and artillery, and I haven't asked Charlie c. If he thinks it would " fit". I have in mind some other naval aircraft in the future. Regards, Wayne |
