Necroscope...many choices, many preferences.
I, personally, HATE petal domes. I find them too difficult to assemble cleanly and I really don't like the seams. And if I had to finish a part with sanding/putty/paint...then I would rather rebuild in a different way. My paper models never have putty or paint* on them. (*other than some edge colouring or minor touchups) That's my preferences.

yeah I have used the petal dome in a few of my designs and my preference is that they work best for small domes and if you need to make a lot of them because they are faster to cut out and glue together. like with the soldier figurine's heads and helmet's that I've made.

news update
Hello all,
Summer has been busy with work and other events. but I've been working on the C-5 when I can. I have gotten the two decks drawn out. the lower part of the fuselage from the wings to the tail is done. next I'll work on the top of the fuselage and forward to the nose, then on to the wings.

Yay! Progress! Glad to see this project is still alive. Keep up the good work and update us when you can.
