Since the recent builds of my other models have been up-scaled to 1:50, I am starting this in 1:48 (old-fashioned model aircraft scale).

Wayne

Since 1/48 is also model railroad O gauge, the thought of setting one of these on a flatcar should attract some interesting comments at train shows.

Here are the updated views. I had to zip them in order to upload them.

These are from the 3D TurboCAD model, so please disregard the odd bits and pieces visible around the edges. I will clean up the model when it is complete.

The 2nd beta is coming along pretty well so far.

The track links/shoes are a pain (160 of them). I laid them out in sets of 10, and I do most of the shaping before I finish cutting them out into individual pieces. I need to finish these before I add anything that goes over them. I will probably leave off the track plates beneath the cabs, since no-one would see them anyway.

I'll start the cabs next then the superstructure.

I don't usually get into armor very much, but am looking forward to see how this turns out.

The tracks might be a pain but the results are seriously worth the effort....

beta update

More beta pix.

I still have to do the gun slide and a bunch of small details on the track frames. I'll add the right cab hatches in the open position when the rough handling parts are done.
