After that cat destroyed my first base by walking over it (I seem to become incredible attractive to cats when I am modelling), I wanted to work on making it sturdier. Of course one could use heavy cardboard or foamcore etc but I wanted to see if I could come up with a simple yet robust paper only version.

Turned around it looks really interesting!

That's a very nice Asian temple, Herr Papierschnitzel. Tell your cat to behave while you're modelling !

That cat does what it wants. I have given up telling it what to do :-) Here it is watching wildlife movie with me while the base is glue drying ...

... and this is how far the texturing of the main base is completed. Now I need to get the small corner things.

Very nice. The little feral girl that is part of my feline charity work has started coming in at night. She watches basketball with a passion. She dislikes the loud obnoxious commercials. Who says cats aren't smart?

I truly believe that the cat is training us, no matter what we try to convince ourselves

So I finished texturing all the base for the Pagoda Tower. Next repeat the whole process for the main Temple building...

Taking things slow this week due to back pain reminding me to take more breaks and sit properly ...

Working on the Main Hall building of the Temple set. The challenge here was to make a large building with parts sizes limited to the A4/US Letter size paper format.

With an ground area of 12x10in it is compatible (and playable) for miniatures in the 25-30mm range ... and as my nephew has found also for LEGO minis!

Next step is the upper floor.

This is how far I came this week. The main hall buildings is almost done. I need to do the ornaments and then I can start with the foundation stairs for this building.

I have added a LEGO mini for size comparison. Taking good photos of this project will be a challenge :-)
