So I was able to finish the texturing of the rickshaw today. What do you think?

I tried to make the simple flat roof geometry look a little real with shading (and even added stitching seams if you can notice).

That's a good looking rickshaw! Love the folding roof(?).

I have no idea what it's called I have come up with rain roof, umbrella roof, and cloth roof. There is probably some special word that someone like Phileas Fogg would know.

If anyone knows, please enlighten us!

Today I wanted to share how far I have come with the Samurai Castle white build. Next up are the roof sections so I can start working on the tweaking and texturing.

I am trying to make all the parts required to rebuild the keeps like Osaka and Himeji castle ... but if that is too big, it will look great with just 1-3 levels :-)

I have been trying to get the roof looking more like the original version and came up with this. Not much more effort than the standard version but I think it looks quite good?

I have worked on textures for the roof and did a quick b/w test build today.

I think it is starting to look good. The roof is curved but as I did not score the side it looks as flat (or "unbent") like the original :-)

Progress on the Tower from the Samurai Castle. This is the green "Osaka" texture version.

Inside also available in case the Ninjas break through the roof :-)

Now I need to work on doors ... in case someone does not want to enter through the roof! :-)

Working on some smaller things before I continue the Samurai Castle series.

A bridge for the Japanese garden ...

... and some Toro lanterns! (not textured yet)

Only thing missing is a miniature bonsai :-)

There will be a couple of versions. The bridges come in three lenghts and two widths (1 and 2 inch) and then color variations. So a lot of options to choose from

The lanterns have four, six and eight sided light boxes, three different heights and a couple of color versions including optional moss/dirt layer.

Here is a shot showing some versions I have built so far.

To allow for an easier build of the bridge I have added optional "filler" textures, so you don't have to cut out all the space around the posts.

And the filler also has an alternative texture (lattice) ...

So this set is almost done. Need to work on the instructions and then it's back to the castle!!!
