Thank you guys!

I am continuing with the "Gates and Walls" set now.

These will be the wall modules.

And there will be a couple of gates (small, medium and large). Here you see a sample configuration showing almost all.

Besides the more elaborate gates there will also be a simple version for each size (like the small one in the back)

Today I was able to adapt the roof for the 6x4" size.

So, slowly, slowly, it's coming together

Starting the work on the final chapter of the Samurai Castle Builder series: The keep!

I have begun with the top level of the max five level keep. Compared to the tower (left) or the 10 year old prototype (right with green roof) this will be a bigature once completed.

Notice the LEGO and GW miniature in the front for scale reference!

I am guessing that miniature gamers will probably only build max three levels but who knows, right?

Also looking forward to a full build in half size (15mm mini size). That should be more manageable for showcase builders.

Chris

Finished the parts for the 2nd roof level. Completed the little roof triangle addons today.

I made them so you can add and remove them as required for your castle build. Of course you can also just glue them on

The part from the back side ...

... you just hook it into the roof level you want to add it on.

Clever way to handle the roof triangle addons. I like it!

Today I finished all the standard roof parts, built all sizes and replaced them all on the demo assembly. I made a couple of the trions (that's what I call the triangle addons :-) ) and placed them accordingly.

Can you make out Himeji castle already? I need to work on the raised roof variants next and the big triangle addon (XTrion?) so that I have all I need for a true Himeji model.

I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Looks good Chris. Yep, I can see Himeji castle trying to get out. Is that your ultimate goal?

The goal is a versatile set that will allow you build almost any castle. But for the demo/showcase piece I want to replicate Himeji castle as close as possible. Ever since I saw it for the first time in Shogun mini-series in the 70ies I fell in love with it :-)

Well you're well on your way. Should be an awesome set when you're finished.

I think I got all the roof parts covered now. This is starting to look nice :-)

This time the big triangle roof and it's cutout worked fine. Don't know how I messed up last time. Can't wait to see these parts textured. Then I will also add the corner ornaments that add that little extra touch to the roof :-)

Like many, loving your work, and can't wait to see the keep completed.
