Laser cut details are still paper like the rest of the model.
I think that they look much better than most other types of construction especially in such a small scale. And they certainly look much better than the ones I could cut out myself. Your'e doing a great job. Your photos keep me inspired to continue chipping away at my 1/250 HMV Hamburg Harbour. Clive.

if i understand it correctly hmv now produce sets of railings at 1;250 that can be cut cut to fit any of their models

HMV offers both: lasercut detail sets suitable to the model kits which include more than railings (for example ladders, radar equipment, stairs, cranes and so on) and in general 1;250 railings in different sizes and colours for flexible use. They also fit to models of other publishers.
In this case there is one detail set for the ZENIT and another for the other boats I have shown (there are some more boats in the kit) which I used. For some of HMVs elder models there are currently no laser cut detail sets available so you have to choose fitting railings from HMV or other producers. |
