Canon Sagrada Familia

Just completed the Canon Sagrada Familia yesterday. Not sure of the scale but did print it to fit on 12" x 18" card stock instead of Letter.

This is the second Sagrada I've built. the first one was the Japanese version (1:300 scale) built in 2013. Last 2 photos show a side-by-side comparison. Haven't decided yet, but may do the Domus version next.

Both turned out very good.
That building looks very intricate.

I've seen a few attempts at this, but few completed it. Congratulations.

How many models of this building are there?

Thanks Doug and V-K.

Have to admit it wasn't the easiest model to build. Still it turns out good looking and more realistic looking than the Japanese version.

V-K, there are 3 complete models and a Spanish part model of one of the sides as far as I know. I have the "cream of the crop" Domus edition which is very difficult to find and thinking of doing that next.

Very nice work, Seascape.

Regarding other versions, Canon also do a very simple one:

Sagrada Familia, Spain Mini Version - Beginner Series - Architecture - Paper Craft - Canon Creative Park

And some years ago an imprint called La Ciutat De Paper (from Barcelona!) published a model of the church as it was before the current building works started. My other half built a copy:

Wow, a husband-wife papermodeling duo. Looks like your wife did a good job of it too. Is she still building?

Thanks, Philip.

Yes, that's the model I was talking about. It's the Nativity Side. Your "other half" did a great job.

Thanks, Chris.

Good one! That's the beauty of paper models, all we need is a couple of simple tools and not much expense.

The other half doesn't build paper models any longer, unfortunately; other interests have taken her attention. Sagrada Familia was the last one she made. It was such a pig to put together I think it was one of the reasons she wandered off to pastures new.

I have it in mind to start a thread showcasing a few of her best builds.
