Fresh Fish Today!

This is a Sakanaya, or Japanese fishmonger's stall, which I found in the dollhouse section of Paper Museum:

https://paperm.jp/craft/dollhouse/index.html

I assume it's in 1/12th scale; it certainly looks like it. It was good fun to make, being quite easy but with some nice details. I particularly like the bucket of eels.

That is reminiscent of a small market I used to frequent that had assorted vendors, off of Kadena circle on Okinawa.

Delightful. I'd looked at those several times, but I always wondered where I'd put them.

I really liked this. Used to see similar when we lived in Japan.

Incidentally, this model qualifies for the 2018 International Paper Modelers' Convention theme of "Something Fishy." http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/615798-post8.html

Very nice. I saw some similar stalls outside of Sasebo on Kyushu.

Interesting model's.

May be worth trying in, say, 1/72...

I am working right now on the Sushi Restaurant, also from Paper Museum, and I have this fishmonger stall and the Gold Fish stall printed as well

That is just stunning! The amount of work in that to me is staggering. Of course, orientals have been doing this stuff for years.
