Excellent work. I'd like to say that Shokaku is one of the first models designed on computer and the hull parts doesn't fit very well, it makes Shokaku quite difficult to built. (I've done Zuikaku that is virtually the same design with different camouflage) So, you managed to build a model without any flaw. Respect and congratulations.

Hi guys,Thanks again
This is true this model does not belong to easy ones. Although it makes the impression easy to build Many parts do not match each other...too long too short and so on.. I have come across some problems..so my model it's not completely flawless.. There were times when I wanted to throw the model into the garbage.. But i don`t give up so easily If you got any questions about this model feel free to ask. Regards. |

Stunning build. Any recommendations on the lighting for the lower decks?

Wonderful, impressive build. I also liked the unexpected hangar deck and elevator lighting. Perhaps I missed it in the beginning - how long did you work on this; from start to finish?

Hello Vince and Elliott I used led diodes from an old torch ( 6 x 1.5 v) powered with three AAA size batteries.Simply glued them up to the top hangar construction and I soldered them them all to a thin copper wire
Power supply cable runs upright through the hull some pics below. Installing lighting in the hangar took me a couple of the days |
