Smile Turkish armored draisine from 1917. 1:45 scale, free model.

I found this cool free model in the web. It is very interesting and unusual.

It has very detailed parts and realistic painting scheme, there are no problems with building, every part fits perfect.

To the model author added a short track section.
Construction took me only 6 hours, but ready model looks awesome :-)

Enjoy.

Adam

Interesting model, as you say it looks great. Very well done! Can you know who the designer is?

Looks like it's the 1:50 Hejaz Railway armoured railcar model hosted on Landships II. The designer is Alexandr Bondar.

The model isn't of a draisine since the railcar was unpowered whereas draisines typically have some sort of motive power.

Interestingly one of the armoured railcars which didn't get delivered to the Ottomans was recycled in Saxony as an Kokampf improvised armoured car in 1919 by the simple expedient of dropping the armoured body onto a truck chassis. (Just in case people are not up to speed the history here - after the Armistice of Nov 1918 Germany descended into chaos when a Bolshevik inspired uprising attempted to seize power. This was crushed by ex-soldiers forming "Kokampf" units in 1919 - the leaders of the uprising and many of the organisers were summarily executed by the Kokampf.)

Regards,

Charlie

Most unusual. You've made a very good job of it.
