VAZ 2101, 1:25, WMC Models

The VAZ 2101 (1970–1982) was the Soviet re-engineered version of the Fiat 124 and produced under licence from Fiat. It was exported to other countries under the Lada brand.
A quite good and popular paper model, but because of the author's ideas to open all the doors, the model is turn into the trash.
More or less satisfying result was obtained only after several attempts and completely rework the model in my own way. No painting, only a few coats of Futura.

Fantastic work! These cars were a common sight on Polish roads back in 1970s and 1980s. But were not as popular as Fiat 125p though.

Magnificent! You have turned this model into a real gem. I'd like to drive this car. It is in my mental garage, along with a two-toned steel gray 2CV with a walnut instrument panel.

You sure about that Don?
It was overweight and under powered and felt like it took half an hour to go from 0-70mph. That made overtaking on country roads something of a heart stopping adventure of uncertain outcome. On the other hand it was rock steady and put it on the motorway in appalling conditions of rain and crosswinds and it would sail past Jaguars and everything else that was having to slow down. Altogether it left a lasting but not unpleasant impression and gave good service.

Nice build Audra.

Nice build, especially with the 4 doors. Note to self if you ever do this kit, glue doors shut.

Same car, same colour. Bloody funny.

Nice build by the way, first few photos I thought it was a plastic model. Top job.
