It's Not Rocket Science
This nice little model from Mike Hungerford is based on one of Gary Larson's "The Far Side" cartoons. It's about 14 cm. high.
I'd normally give a link, but the last time I tried to access Mike's site my virus checker (Avast) woudn't let me go there.

Yeah, I binned Avast last year 'cos it was getting too fussy. Tried AVG for a bit but that was worse. It even blocked the PM forum. So for the last 10 months I've been surfing happily just using Defender (with 10Bit Malware Fighter in the background). Defender has vastly improved over the last few Win10 updates and the UK computer mags have been giving it very positive reviews lately.
Of course, I have Tor Browser on hand for exploring some of the more nefarious areas of the web, but I rarely use it now that Chrome has an incognito mode. Many websites now block you from entering if you have an ad blocker active, but I find switching to incognito overcomes these blocks. You do then have to endure all the adverts because Adblock Plus doesn't work in incognito mode. Dunno if any of the others do. Mike is still contactable through Deviant Art by the way.

Sorry for the confusion! My site is hosted as a courtesy by someone else, and was recently flagged for malware. I deleted the entire site, intending to upload the well-aged backup (the only thing that was updated recently was my beer page), and have been waiting patiently (since July 16th) for the hosting service (via the "someone else") to give me the all clear. In the meantime, my models are available here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...su?usp=sharing I'll add the Peace in Paper and Paper Paradise files as well if there's any interest. Thanks for the heads-up, Rick! :-) Mike |

Hi, Mike! Good to hear from you again! :-)
Ironically, Mike once told me that enlarged versions of this Far Side rocket have successfully flown! Improbable as it seems, the design is aerodynamically stable. They WERE rocket scientists, after all! ;-) David T. Okamura |

David!!
Yeah, the thing will survive launch and recovery, but not the clutching hands of con-goers. Good thing I had glue with me that day. <G> I saw Bob P's photo of you with him, Pablo, and Jim from the recent IPMS-OC meeting. Glad to see you're still in the game. :-) |
