Wait, I saw some of those photos. The building model looked good. I like those complex models.

Well, the cat's out of the bag now.

The Foundation was inaugurated in 1971 in order to promote Joan Miro's works and to act as a study centre for contemporary artists and researchers. The present building dates from 1975. The architect was Josep Lluis Sert, a friend of Miro, who was heavily into the Bauhaus movement, as can be seen here. Lots of reinforced concrete and plenty of glass.

The kit was published by La Ciutat de Paper, Barcelona, 1984. It's to 1/200 scale, which makes the base roughly 46cm square. I enjoyed making this one even though progress was slow (or perhaps because progress was slow). The parts lined up pretty much as they were supposed to, so no problem there. I liked the nice use of the transparecies supplied. The real bugbear for me was that several parts - the sides of the skylights, for example - were deliberately designed slightly oversize and had to be trimmed down after assembly. I discovered that I wasn't very good at this. Still, you can't have everything your own way, can you?

I'm having much trouble getting pictures to appear here just now, so all I can do at the moment is to direct you to one of my Flickr albums, where the model can be seen in all it's glory

Nice one Philip. I like it when a model is complicated ;-)

Good model, really like Miro's work especially his later biomorphic work.

I'm going to have another try at posting the pictures on the forum. Wish me luck!

Philip, your model is wonderful!
Normally, I prefer science fiction and space models, but the architectures have some charm on me.
And I like the Bahuaus (not only the gothic rock band, but also the School), perhaps not all the shapes, but I share the thought.
Great building!
