I scaled the model to 1:50 (130%)

The fitting was very good and I like the classic airline schema

I hope, you like it too

Great build of a great aircraft of a great airline! I love these vintage liveries too. Here's the original aircraft, the first one delivered to KLM in 1948. KLM had named these aircraft after famous Dutch painters. A pity that the name is not printed on the model, but that's just a detail. The name of this particular aircraft was Rembrandt.

Cheers,
Erik

I've always liked the Convair and Martin tricycle twins. Great work on this Flying Dutchman.

Hmm. That particular tidbit didn't appear when I was doing the research. Or that picture. I'll have to make an adjustment to the model.

Hello Murph,

I made two slide adjustments on the model, when I enlarged it to 1:50:

I colored the connection taps and I changed the colour of the windows
(I`m just building the American Airlies, where I add the orange-red areas )

And: PLEEEEEEEAAAAASE do more classic Airlines, like SAS and PAA

Hi Murph,

If you google on KLM Convair 240 you will find quite a few useful pictures. Hope you don't mind mentioning this but the slogan "The Flying Dutchman" used by KLM on its aircraft at the time was only printed in English on the left side of the fuselage. On the right side, the Dutch translation was used: "De Vliegende Hollander".

As far as I know, nowadays KLM still uses this bilingual naming, left side English, right side Dutch.

Regards,
Erik
