Excellent! I'm really glad to see these photos and the build shots. I've had the Penelope/Spey set for some time and have intended to build them. Your outstanding craftsmanship provides an example and a challenge!

Are the rails paper, brass wire, etchings, or some other technique?

Have you built the Penelope as well?

Sorry for so many questions, but this is one that really interests me.

I'm glad You like it.

- The railings are paper laser cut.
- No, the HMS Penelope is still waiting to be built (but infortunately I'm not planning to do it soon).

P.S. Don't worry about asking only two questions

It's beautiful. Hard to believe it is so small.

Here are two more questions: What is the rigging made of? How did you attach the rigging?

Very sharp build. Who makes 1/400 laser cut railings?

Thomas Pleiner makes 1/400 laser cut paper railings. I think I bought mine from Paper Models International, although I can't find them in the current on-line catalog (http://www.papermodels.net/p50.html).

Lou Dausse of PMI ([email protected]) can tell you for sure about price and availability in the USA. And if Thomas Pleiner is monitoring this discussion, he can tell us who carries his railings in various countries.
