If you want to participate in rules design please post in this thread

I know the game CANNOT survive without a good set of rules. I have some basics in the back of my mind for how I want this to work but I am going to need some people that are familiar with games that use miniatures/cards to help keep me on track and to make sure balance/expandability is kept in good working order...

Want to help here? Please let me know!
Thanks

But will you make the rule discussion public? Shouldn't it be a private group to do it?

nah - I dont think it needs to be private - you never know who might have input.

Unless you are worried that someone might steal it before we are done... that in itself might warrant a bit more protection. I need to see who else wants to be involved before we go that step though

I'm an optimist, so sometimes I have bad experiences with trusting too much. But here I was thinking more about keep people curious and excited with what we were doing.

ever heard too many witches spoil the brew? I typically like to only have a few people working on something core to reduce overall discussion. Only core rules would be discussed in private I think - its purely mechanics anyway so not overly interesting. I would definitely leave everything else out in the open like it is now.

I have a several good board games at various levels of difficulty.

I'd be happy to bring my experience to the table.

I would suggest the first thing to do is map out detailed sequence of play.

Then you can create the individual modules which bolt into the sequence.

Another benefit is that it will help focus peoples ideas and input. There are so many post in a short space of time I'm getting a bit lost with everything.

Example.

3.0 MOVEMENT

3.1 Over watch:

3.2 Movement:

3.3 Opportunity Fire:

3.3.1 Any unit on the non-movement side may fire upon any enemy unit which
passes though it's line of sight.

3.3.2 Any unit which engages the enemy is marked as fired weapon and may not
move next turn.

This way we can have a thread section in the forum titled "3.3 Opportunity Fire:" with treads on each section of the rules. The first post will always show the current rule and it can be edited as ideas are put into place.

Just a thought.

Cheers JTF
