Only £8.92 + £2.80 pp from UKPaperbackshop. Saves a few quid on the Amazon price. Johnny. PS: Still working on the landing gear ... I HATE superglue, but in this scale it's the only way I know to stiffen up the legs. Winding mini-tubes around a pin is great fun, but it works ... eventually. |

It's finished ...
Zooming in any further went way out of focus, but maybe it's just as well. This isn't the tidiest model I've made, but then again it was designed to be 16 (?) times bigger. The wingspan is 82 mm. Anyone guess what scale that makes it? It's nearly twice the size of my S&P 1:300 one (but a lot more detailed). This was made using Gary's picture from post #38, printed to fit on A5 x 120gsm card. Aided by the B&W pdo file Gary helpfully supplied to show where all the bits went. At this scale many of the supporting ribs weren't really necessary, but , what the Hell, I put them in anyway. The fit of the parts was perfect. Proof of an excellent design. Well done Gary. The big one should slide together rapidly ... (So why haven't we seen a picture yet?). Keep on snippin' ... Johnny. |

Well I reckon that near enough Gary's design is 1/48 scale and John's build is 1/192 scale.
So Gary's design is 4 times as large, uses 16 times as much paper and occupies 64 times the volume. Neat design Gary and excellent little build John. Now don't expect me to apologise for what we've just done to you Poms in the Test Match - but I will condole with you - after having a good laugh of course. |
