Hi Gary. Don't know. Maybe Neptune got their original P2V aircraft from CAF disposal and just left the flash, then carried to the 146 - or maybe just an RCAF fan in Neptune Aviation. I will have to ask .

Yep, Dan from Neptune Aviation confirmed one of their P2-7 aircraft came from Canadian Forces with the flash and it stuck. Very friendly offer of assistance once it comes time for a repaint.
