Just looking at the model Gary's designing, looks more like a stretch 8 than the shorter model which Braniff used for there Calder paint scheme. Not 100% sure about that, just looks that way.
No matter what, it will be a very welcome addition to my collection.
Thanks Gary!!!

You might be right. I just can't remember which DC-8 had the Calder's artwork. However, the single colour livery was also applied to both long and short Branniff's DC-8s and it is also very striking.

Braniff had one DC 8-62 painted in Calder colors. Had a tail number of N1805. They also had one B-727 painted in Calder colors as well.
Not too sure if Braniff ever operated stretch eight's. I was based in Dallas Love Field and our hangar was right across from there hangar and don't recal seeing any stretches. But then again, that was a FEW years ago.

Yes, just a few years ago, in the 70s!! The DC-8-62 was the long or short version. I just can't remember.

Hi, Gary, the Buccaneer is still hovering at 20,000 ft and needs landing gears desperately
to land. Can you do something urgently as she's running out of fuel.

hi Gary
Did you know that when Delta retired their DC-8s UPS bought all of them....think there were more then a dozen sold to UPS....so maybe you might give priority to releasing the UPS version.....my son flew the UPS DC-8 until they too retired them in favor of the Boeing 757/767
