That would be wonderful. Just let us know the distance between the hash marks on the borders so we can be sure we have it sized correctly. Thank you for your wonderful work.

John

Printing actual size (100%) on A4 will give ya 1 inch hash marks

Thanks a million Gary, this just jumped to #1 on my recolor queue!

I abandoned my recolor of Chaiwat's C45 as it was beyond me (and Pablo) to create a new windscreen that Chaiwat left out - didn't help that I never heard back from him.

Hopefully the other white templates will start coming when I'm done with this, thanks again!

OK, I've just uploaded my 1:72 recolor of Gary Pilsworth's 1:48 Beech Model 18 into NPC-54, the first aircraft of Philippine Air Lines. Incidentally, the registry code dates back to when the Philippines was a US territory.

It began flying on 15 March 1941, from Nielsen Field (now Makati CBD) to Loakan Field in Baguio, with PAL founding director Andres Soriano supplying his personal Beech 18 and pilot Paul Gunn. This particular aircraft was shot down by a Japanese floatplane (likely a F1M 'Pete' from Sanyo Maru) between Zamboanga and Bukidnon around 26 January 1942.

Captain 'Pappy' Gunn survived his second shootdown and went on to wage a very unconventional war, as documented by General George Kenney.

I was so enthused by this subject it only took me a half day to finish this recolor! My abandoned project turned out useful as I'd already done the research into colors and graphics placement. For me Gary's version hits the sweet spot between Chaiwat's simplistic design and Gerard's more complex interpretation. Enjoy!

Ready for my next challenge, Gary - how about an uncolored HS-748?

As usual, available after moderator approval.

Thank you very much Mr. Pilsworth. Another suggestion with all due respect, a model that at least I have never seen before. Also Beechcraft, this time the Staggerwing biplane. Also perhaps the V tail Bonanza. You may or may not know that the Bonanza has the record of the most continuously produced aircraft. It started production in 1947 and it is still being made. The main external difference is that the latest model has no V tail which is a pity. The classic Bonanza MUST have a V tail. Or what about both versions? We love your models sir.
