Keyboards...to delete, or not to delete.

I have to apologize for my terrible grammar and spelling of late.
I tend to rush when I type and I make a lot of mistakes.
I also seem to have dyslexia when I type! LOL
Letters are alway out of order!

I try to go back and fix things, but if I am really rushing to make a post, then...

But I now have another issue affecting my typing...
I've got this older Logitech keyboard with Keys that don't work too well.
I really like Logitech stuff, but its well used.
Sometimes I have to press a particular key really hard
or maybe mutliple times to get the letter to appear.

I've tried taking it apart, more than once, to clean and inspect.
But it doesn't help.

So, why don't I buy a new Keyboard you ask?
Well....
I have.
I now have 7 keyboards!!

But only this one has a full size Delete key.

Its hard to explain, but the way I work in CorelDraw, I use the Delete key a lot
for certain functions, certain artistic operations within the program.
I use the delete key a lot in other ways too...

and I have just gotten used to where it is.
I can find it with my little finger, really easily, without looking.

Most Keyboards have a small Delete key, and its usually positioned below an Insert key.
I don't use the Insert key...and the smaller Delete key is harder to find without looking.

It may not sound like an issue, but my brain and hands have gotten used to a keyboard layout
and I have tried many new Keyboards and I am unable to adjust.
I keep reinstalling this old Keyboard.

(Actually I have two older keyboards with large Delete keys, this just happens to be the best of the two.)

So...does your Keyboard have a full size Delete key like mine?
And if so, is the keyboard any good?
What Make and Model is it?

Wow! That's neat. I'm not sure if I've seen one of those this century. Work a round with Logitech is to remap the Ins key so that you'll get a delete in both locations.

What I can't figure is why someone wants "Caps Lock" as a double size key.

Hi

This reminds me of some older Microsoft multimedia keyboards. These had a big delete key, I remember I hated them...

Nowadays, Logitech sells the MK320 wireless keyboard + mouse kit. It has a large delete key, however the layout is not exactly the same as yours... :

This Microsoft kit seems better regarding layout, but it's expensive, and some people may prefer a flat keyboard :

Hope this helps.

Regards

My keyboard doesn't have a double size Caps Lock...?

...
I have the Mk320...its no good.
Almost needs a line of sight to the USB receiver.
Keeps losing signal.
And goes through Batteries like crazy.
I went back to the wired Keyboard.

That MS keyboard looks good.
But the price is twice what I would pay for a keyboard.
Maybe I can find one on ebay.

...
okay...forget that MS keyboard.
Tons of them for sale on ebay, new and used.
All missing the USB receiver...or its a defective receiver.
Obviously a problem with that model.

LOL One guy selling six of them for $15!
Lot of 6 Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Desktop USB Keyboard and Mouse for Parts | eBay

And, anyway, I don't really want another wireless keyboard.

ebay is probably your best bet if you're looking for that specific Keyboard, but the caveat is hoping the action isn't too worn, based on personal preference.

A used Computer store is also an option; you might get lucky and find one there.

No, I don't want a used one.
I wouldn't waste money on someone's old keyboard. lol

Plenty of new stuff out there.
Even reconditioned stuff sometimes, as long as it comes from the original manufacturer.

I think I should be looking for another one of the same keyboard I already have.
You probably thought of that.
Do you know I hadn't thought of that...up to this moment!
LOL what a maroon!

Technically you have a double size Delete key in a non-standard format. The 6 button spread with Insert/Delete/Home/End/PgUp/PgDn is actually the standard.

I have a CodeKeyboard, and like it quite a bit, but people have different preferences on Mechanical Keyboards

Have an HP KU-0841 that has a big Delete key. Different from yours in that it has the Home key just above it with End-Page Up-Page Down on the right side of the two.

Just found out it does have an Insert key. Its on the top home next to the Prt Scr, I always just use Ctrl V since over the years I've gotten used to using the X-C-V keys for cut, copy and paste.

Deriachi...I know that.

Whulsey...yeah, me too.
Because I have worked with Corel for so long, I use most of the Ctrl+ functions for everything.
I even use HOME, END, PAGE UP and DOWN a lot for moving layers and objects within Corel too.

INSERT just isn't needed in my case.
And like Deriachi says...people have preferences.
You get used to doing something a certain way, even if its not the common way.
And its hard to change.
I love that big DELETE key!

...
I took a look for any of my current keyboard (on ebay).
Theres a few used ones...only one Brand New in a Box.
Unfortunately its in Cali, and the final cost to me is more than $50 US. ($65 CAN)
So, that a bit steep.

How about Lighter's suggestion, remapping the Ins key?
