For all you guys working with plastic and paper, this might be very useful new tool: Ultrasonic Cutter, see it HERE.
I have no affiliation with that company. Just keeping the pulse on new technologies.... Darius

WHAT? $162K Canadian. I'm a little short for that Darius. Cool looking little machine though.

The user is wearing a Kevlar glove when using it.

Well the early bird price is US$278, later the estimate price is going to be around $390. Not cheap but for somebody who cuts lot of thick cardboard and plastic it's like a poor man laser cutter. I'm particularly intrigued by its' ability to cut along curvy lines and circles in one smooth motion. Myself I would rather test it first before splurging any of my denaros.
Protective gloves and glasses are standard safety precautions. Even X-acto advice is to wear safety glasses while using their blades.... Darius

$50,000 goal, already has $126,000.+. Interesting, but will stick with knife and scissors.
John, I use "cut" resistant cut gloves for all projects around the house. They save my knuckles from damage as well as the small cuts/scrapes always seemed to get. I use the Honeywell Work WE300 for hobby stuff. Cut level 3 rating. Use a size smaller than normal, can pick up small items and feel like second skin. Mike |

It just looks like a knife to me, now if you had it connected to a plotter you might have something.

So....you know those little electric Engraving Tools?
Mine is a red plastic handled thing, with a pointy metal nib. Very loud when its running. What if you welded a knife blade to the end of an engraving tip. Make it into a vibrating knife thingy. ??
