Paper cutter help ...... please!

Just purchased a paper cutter. Chose the Silhouette Cameo 3 over the Cricut Air 2 (tell me I made the right choice!)

What's the best way to go from PDF plans to cut project using the Basic version of the software (this will not import PDFs directly)

Any one doing this?

Do any plans sellers offer plans in other format beside PDF? Like ready to cut .gsd or .dxf?

Any bit of help is very appreciated.

i have owned a Cameo 2 for years. and i do quite well with it. one little program you will probably need is PDFill tools https://www.pdfill.com/pdf_tools_free.html. with that you can convert the PDF to seperate PNG images and import them into the Studio software where you can trace the parts with draw polygon tool.

Thanks Wulf,
Your posts are basically the reason I picked the Cameo.

Already downloaded the PDFill program.

So don't use the auto fill, you trace everything by hand?

Do you use the Cameo to score also?

yes, trace everything by hand. the more you do it the quicker you will get and the zoom function is you best friend here. my version of the Cameo doesn't have the score function so i either do that by hand or use the dotted line when cutting to create a perforated line to fold. i believe the Cameo 3 actually has a score function built in so you will want to set all the score lines as a separate color i usually set cut lines as red and score lines as green.
