Similar tools are used by jewelers - so those of you elsewhere check out your local jeweler supply stores. They are not cheap though.

Unless there is no way for you to order on line or at model shows, why bother with jeweler when this tool cost $20 , check out his web site Isaac

Isaac - I did say "those of you elsewhere". Well, if you dont live in the USA, but in Europe, the Far East, Africa, Australasia or somewhere else, postage, duties, tracking etc costs a fortune. And a lot of the forum members here do live in other countries.... From a jewelry supply store here the cost is around 35-40 USD. From the USA postage to here, plus tracking (because parcels go missing otherwise), plus duty of 15 USD, plus 15% vat would probably mean it costs in the region of 80 USD +/- depending on weight.

Not to worry Isaac!
For anyone living in the USA you are 100% correct - don't mess about and support the guy. He is clearly doing a good job and does not look expensive either. That tool is also a good find. Be interested to see if you find any additional uses for it....

Having only done paper for about 6 months I just have to ask--- do you ever have enough tools?

short answer = No
long answer = everything will start to look like a tool you can use in your model building for about $10 and a couple of good coupons from Harbor Freight, you can pick up some nice kit

Rickstef,
That was the most realistic explanation ever posted. I found a couple of "tools" during my yearly tool sorting (it makes my daughter happy) that I have no idea why I bought them, where I bought them, or what their official intended use is. However, I am sure that I can find a use for them. |

Rick, can you give some examples of nice tools that you picked up from HF?
Thanks, Curt |
